In Canadian home insurance, what is the usual percentage allowed for contents?
Jul 20, 2011 by TitoBob | Posted in Insurance
All home insurance policies designate a certain amount of coverage for contents, usually expressed as a percentage of the property value. In Canada, what is the usual percentage amount (or range) for this coverage? (Specifically, in BC)
The limit is derived by taking a percentage of the building limit. The percentage ranges from 60% (the lowest I've seen) to 100% depending on the insurer and the policy type. It's pretty much the same in all provinces.
